Stoneleigh House, Earlsdon is a 6,093 sq.ft. Victorian Villa built in 1852 originally as a family home and watchmaking factory. In the 1930’s it was converted into modernist offices, concealing many of its original features. The building is arranged over a basement, ground and two upper floors. It was acquired in June 2021, complete with high ceilings and various Victorian features, making it well suited to a collection of period style apartments.
Working alongside British architects, AT, the project provides an opportunity to transform the oldest building on Earlsdon High-street back to its former glory. Following two successful planning applications to firstly change use of the upper floors from offices (B1a) to five residential flats (C3) and secondly to change all the windows and create a small two-storey extension. This will help reinstate the exterior period features and symmetry of the original building.
Thames Cribs also plans to take up residence in one of the two ground floor commercial spaces, once works are complete.
